Nestlé to Invest HUF 140 bln Into Hungarian Pet Food Plant

Nestlé will invest HUF 140 billion at its pet food plant in Buk (about 172 km west of Budapest), boosting capacity by 30%, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on Friday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
The investment will create 250 jobs, Szijjártó said.
He noted that around 900 Swiss-owned companies employ over 31,000 people in Hungary.
The investment will add 35,000 sqm of production area and an automated warehouse at the pet food plant, Nestle said in a statement. The plant, which will celebrate its 25th anniversary this year, has a headcount of 1,400.
Nestlé has invested more than HUF 325 bln in Hungary over its 30 years of presence.
It employs more than 2,500 people in Hungary at its three plants in Szerencs, Diósgyőr, and Bük, and its headquarters in the capital.
