Continental Dohányipari undertakes HUF 10 bln expansion

Hungarian-owned tobacco company Continental Dohányipari said it is investing close to HUF 10 billion at its base in Sátoraljaújhely (219 km northeast of Budapest), according to a report by state news wire MTI.

Continental Dohányipari is building a 5,400 sqm factory outfitted with upgraded machinery that will boost capacity by around 25% when it is completed next spring.

The company is an independent, family-owned company that has units in Italy, Germany, Romania, and Slovakia. Its products are exported to more than 30 countries.

Continental Dohányipari had revenue of HUF 47 bln last year, public records show.
