Listed building materials maker Masterplast on Monday said it was awarded a HUF 4.46 billion contract from Hungary's National Hospitals Directorate to supply protective overalls, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

Because of a shortage of raw materials, Masterplast said Hungarian oil and gas company MOL will supply it with polypropylene for the order. Masterplast will use that to make a double-layer breathable textile at its plant in Germany, then finish the order with the involvement of close to 50 Hungarian sewing businesses.

The contract runs through September 2021.

Masterplast entered the healthcare products market last summer with its acquisition of a plant in Germany that makes fleeces used for masks and protective clothing. The company started supplying the Hungarian healthcare sector with PPE in December.

The company's shares closed up 3.92% at HUF 3,180 on Monday.
