Hungary's Ganz Transformers has signed an agreement with Germany's Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen on the development and production of intelligent transformers, according to piacesprofit.hu.

Under the partnership, Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen will supply Ganz Transformers with an automatization and digitalization solution that monitors the condition and operation of transformers, improving reliability and extending lifespan.

The Hungarian firm noted growing demand for transformer sensors, while the German partner pointed to the use of intelligent transformers not only for critical nodes but as a part of future power networks.

According to public records, Ganz Transformers had a net sales revenue of EUR 22.7 million last year; exports accounted for about half of the turnover.
