Toyota Boosts Market Share in Hungary

Sales of new Toyota cars and light commercial vehicles climbed 14.6% to 17,300 last year, even as the market stagnated, Toyota Central Europe said on Wednesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

Toyota's share of the new passenger car and LCV market rose 1.8 percentage points to 13.5%.

Fleet sales accounted for 62% of Toyota's business in Hungary. Sales to corporate customers climbed 21.7% to 10,740, while sales to private individuals increased 4.5% to 6,560.

Total new car and LCV sales in Hungary edged down 0.6% to 128,469 last year.
