Motorway Vignette Sales Edge Down to 14.9 mln in 2023

Motorway vignette sales in Hungary slipped 1% to around 14.9 mln last year, toll system operator NÚSZ said on Thursday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

Sales of 10-day vignettes inched up 1% to 9.4 mln. Cars with foreign number plates accounted for 5.3 mln of the purchases.

Sales of one-month vignettes fell 22% to 2.2 mln and sales of annual vignettes climbed 11% to 651,000.

Sales of annual vignettes good for a single county rose 9% to 2.6 mln.

Revenue from sales of motorway vignettes reached HUF 127.9 bln last year.

Revenue from HU-GO tolls paid by commercial vehicles came to HUF 404 bln.
