EVs, Hybrids 1/3 of Mercedes Cars Sold in Hungary

Fully electric or plug-in hybrid models accounted for one-third of the new Mercedes-Benz passenger cars sold in Hungary last year, Mercedes-Benz Hungaria said in a press release earlier this week.

Sales of Mercedes electric and plug-in hybrid models came to 1,463 last year out of a total sales volume of 4,419 units. Sales of plug-in hybrids reached 1,068 units, giving Mercedes-Benz a 20% market share.

Sales of fully electric cars came to 395, giving it a 6.9% market share.

In the top-end vehicle category, the German automaker sold 956 cars. Sales included 314 CLA, 280 A-class and 45 EQB models, all manufactured at the car maker's plant in Kecskemét (95 km southeast of Budapest). Sales of new Mercedes autos in Hungary came to 5,516 in 2022, Mercedes-Benz Hungaria said earlier.
