The number of guests nights in Hungary is expected to climb further in July after last summer's record-breaking tourism volume by domestic travelers, the deputy head of the Hungarian Tourism Agency said on Wednesday.

László Könnyid said preliminary data show guest nights should climb over 5.2 million in July, while the number of bookings for August stands over 3.2 million. The number of guest nights in July could rise 10% over the same month a year earlier, he added.

Könnyid was speaking at the inauguration of a promenade in the center of Zalakaros (179 km southwest of Budapest).
