Agri Ministry providing distillation support for wineries

The Ministry of Agriculture is providing distillation support to wineries with a budget of HUF 1.5 billion as part of the harvest preparation, said Minister of Agriculture István Nagy, according to agroinform.hu.
The Minister explained that, at the initiative of the National Council of Mountain Villages (HNT), the distillation of about 100,000 hectoliters of wine could be carried out in a subsidized manner this year.
This provides an alternative income opportunity for producers facing capacity shortages or sales problems due to the situation caused by the coronavirus epidemic.
