Due to the bad weather, there will be no fireworks today, according to a decision by the operative corps responsible for the safety of the St. Stephen's Day celebrations, Hvg.hu writes.

According to a statement from the Government Information Center, the latest comprehensive forecast from the National Meteorological Service, together with an assessment of the situation by fireworks and event organizers, concluded that the conditions for the safe staging of the fireworks, scheduled for 9 p.m. on August 20, were unlikely to be met and the decision was taken to postpone the event.

According to the new plans, the fireworks show will be held on Saturday, August 27.

The continuation of the St. Stephen's Day programs, taking place in multiple venues in Budapest, will be decided at the discretion of the local organizers.
