Chain Bridge Load Capacity Successfully Tested

Twenty-four 20-tonne trucks tested the load capacity of the repaired Chain Bridge on Saturday, according to the business daily Világgazdaság.
Based on the primary data, the test went well; the bridge's renovation is on schedule, and within budget, the Budapest Transport Center (BKK) said.
According to the announcement, the experts measured the static and dynamic test load, in which changes in shape are caused in the structure of the Chain Bridge if 20-ton trucks are parked at specific points.
In addition, they also monitored how it affects the crossing if a heavy vehicle passes through it at 5, 20, and 30 kilometers per hour and at the highest speed that a truck can safely reach.
