MÁV, Serbian Railways sign declaration of intent on Budapest-Belgrade line
State-owned Hungarian railway company MÁV and Serbian Railways on Friday signed a declaration of intent on renovating the line between Budapest and Belgrade.
The declaration was signed by MÁV chairman-CEO Ilona Dávid and Serbian Railways CEO Dragoljub Simonovic.
At a meeting of the Hungarian-Serb Joint Economic Committee in February, the sides agreed to make the line a double, fully electrified one, capable of handling speeds up to 160 kilometers/hour.
