Szijjártó meets Kazakh Prime Minister
Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó held talks with Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Karim Massimov in Astana yesterday. Szijjártó told Hungarian news agency MTI that he also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Erlan Idrissov, Chairman of the Senate Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Minister of Investment and Development Asset Issekeshev and Minister of National Economy Erbolat Dossayev.
Both Hungary and Kazakhstan are ready to improve their economic ties, which have suffered because of the Ukrainian crisis, he said. Kazakhstan is preparing to introduce an electronic toll system and a Hungarian company is likely to win the contract to build it, Szijjártó said. The two governments agreed to sign a pact that would establish the legal foundation for launching direct flights between their countries in the near future, he added.
