Larger families could be eligible for motorway vignette refunds

History

As of April, families with three or more children could become eligible for refunds on motorway vignettes should the Hungarian government approve a decree drafted by the Human Resources Ministry, Hungarian daily Magyar Nemzet reported today.

According to the paper, if the law takes effect, large families would be refunded half the price of weekly and monthly national vignettes as well as half of the recently introduced annual county vignette, the paper said. The government is expected to discuss the draft at the end of March.

Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said today in his fortnightly interview with state-owned Kossuth radio that the government had "basically decided on" the draft decree for vignette compensation and that the matter was now in the "technical" phase.
