Hungarian PM removed from Oxford hall of fame

History

Hungarian PM Viktor Orbán was deleted from the hall of fame section of British Oxford university, Hungarian online daily borsonline.hu reported yesterday.

Though many people do not know, the Hungarian PM spent one year studying in Oxford before he came home to Hungary for the parliamentary elections of 1990. Following his election to Parliament he never returned to the University.

The prime minister’s name was included in the so-called “Famous Oxoniansen” the list of former Oxford students, who have acquired fame. His name used to be in a sophisticated place between Crown Prince of Japan Naruhito and the Monthy Python actor Michael Palin. On the enquiry of the online daily, the university explained the removal of the PM’s name with lack of space due to the recent move of the site from one domain to another.
