A Hungarian-American business chamber has started operating in Chicago, the Hungarian consulate in the city said, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The Hungarian-American Chamber of Commerce - Chicago could further expand bilateral business ties, Tamás Kovács, the consul general there said.

Endre Kovács-Sebestény, who was elected to head the Hungarian-American Chamber of Commerce - Chicago, said the aim was to create an environment for doing business that paved the way for economic players from both countries to get support for financing, establishing companies, acquisitions and organizing networking events.

The supportive business environment in Hungary remains one of the most important attractions for U.S. companies weighing an expansion in Europe, while the number of Hungarian companies capable of exporting is on the rise, and their chances of competing on overseas markets are good with the appropriate support, he added.
