The Brunszvik-Beethoven center and its Library and the Kindergarten Historical Museum were inaugurated today by Minister of Justice László Trócsányi. The new center and the museum are located in a renovated wing of the Brunszvik castle near the town of Martonvásár, about 35 km/20 miles west of Budapest.

The new premises cost HUF 320 mln (EUR 1 mln) and are partially financed by the European Union. They include a theatre, an exhibition area, offices and a café named after a famous piano piece composed by Ludwig Van Beethoven, “Für Elise”.

Surrounded by a romantic 70 hectares park, the Brunszvik castle also houses the Beethoven museum. A friend of the Brunszvik family, the German composer visited the place several times and his statue can be seen in the park.
