Concorde bids for stake in Warsaw Stock Exchange
Friday 13:29, October 2nd, 2009
Hungary's Concorde is one of six brokers who have submitted bids in the privatization of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, business daily Napi Gazdaság reported, citing a report by Bloomberg which in turn cited a report by Polish business daily Parkiet.

The Polish government is offering 74% of the bourse: a 51% stake to professional investors and a 23% stake to brokerages that trade on the exchange. In addition to Concorde, the brokerages Merrill Lynch, Banco Espirito, Wood and Co, Goldman Sachs and Bank Pekao have submitted bids for part of the 23% stake.

Concorde has bid for a stake under 10%, but even the combined bids of all six brokerages do not reach 23%.

Concorde did not comment on the report when asked by Napi Gazdaság. (MTI – Econews)
