The Budapest Stock Exchange’s blue-chip BUX index closed Tuesday trade down 0.95% to 18,891.07 as the publication of disappointing US manufacturing and consumer-confidence data weighed on sentiment among BSE investors.

The BUX lost 181.70 points on a composite exchange turnover of HUF 21.75bn, fluctuating in a 2.56% range between an intra-session high of 19,386.59 at 10:30 a.m. and an intra-session low at the index’s closing mark of 18,891.07.

BSE blue-chips stood as follows at Tuesday’s closing bell:

Oil and gas company MOL lost 2.59% to HUF 18,800 on a turnover of HUF 3.74bn;

Magyar Telekom declined 0.93% to HUF 535 on a turnover of HUF 1.87bn;

Drug company Richter lost 0.54% to HUF 37,000 on a turnover of HUF 899m;

OTP Bank gained 0.32% to HUF 4,013 on an exchange-high turnover of HUF 14.26bn.

The BSE Big Four generated 95.5% of the exchange’s composite Tuesday turnover.
