NAV to extend crackdown on black market cigarette sales
More than 70 million illegal cigarettes were seized by the Hungarian National Tax and Customs Authority (NAV) in the first half of this year, Hungarian daily Magyar Nemzet reported today.
In addition, NAV also seized some 2.5 million tons of loose leaf tobacco, the authority says on its official website.
This year NAV’s objective is to crack down on black market tobacco sales, its spokesman said to the Hungarian daily. Those areas where there no are no National Tobacco Stores will be under particular check.
