MVM electricity auction prices up 9.2% y.o.y.

Prices at an auction of electricity by Hungarian Electricity Works (MVM), the state-owned power company, increased by 9.2% from a year earlier, Hungarian business daily Napi Gazdaság reported today.

The average price at the auction last week was HUF 13,640 per MWh, up from HUF 12,486 at the auction a year earlier. The delivery price of the electricity in the Q4, was lower than the average prices of HUF 16,792 at auctions in September, 2012 and HUF 18,782 at auctions in September, 2011. 

Sales volume at the auction came to 788,000 MWh, up from 749,000 MWh in the same period last year. The electricity auctioned is for consumers on the deregulated market.
