KSH: Trade surplus at €610 mln in June

June was another good month for Hungary’s trade balance. The country had a €609.7 mln trade surplus, up by €72 mln in year-on-year, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) revealed in a first estimate report today.

Exports and imports grew by 4.5% and 3.8% respectively. Exports reached €6.9 bln, while imports totalled €6.3 bln.

Approximately 78% of the country’s exports went to other European Union countries in June and 74% of the country's imports arrived from the EU.

In the first half of 2014, trade surplus came to €3.5 bln, growing by €245 mln year-on-year. Exports increased by 4.2% reaching €41.9 bln, while imports grew by 3.9% exceeding €38.3 bln.

KSH’s final report for this period is expected on September 2.
