KSH: Hungary’s trade surplus reaches €929 mln in March

Hungary’s trade surplus reached €928.6 mln in March, with exports rising by 12.9% to €8.257 bln, and imports up by 9.8% to €7.329 bln, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said in a first reading of data today.

KSH said that the trade surplus rose €287.7 mln as compared to the previous year. The surplus on the trade balance was €929 mln, while the share of European Union Member States was 79% in exports and 77% in imports.

In the first quarter of this year, the value of exports was €22.3 bln and that of imports €19.8 bln, according to KSH. Exports and imports were up 7.7% and 5.7%, respectively in euro terms as compared to the same period of the previous year, while the surplus on the trade balance was €530 mln higher than that measured a year earlier, KSH added.
