KSH: Hungary’s PPI falls 3.2% in February

Industrial producer prices in Hungary were down by a year-on-year 3.2% in February from the same month a year earlier, with domestic prices falling by 4.7% and export prices dropping by 2.3%, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said today.

In a month-on-month comparison, producer prices were down 1.5% as domestic prices edged down 0.1% and export prices fell 2.3%.

According to KSH, of the end-user groups of producer branches of industry, prices in domestic sales decreased by 6.3% in energy and intermediate producer branches as a whole, by 0.7% in capital goods producer branches and by 0.3% in consumer goods producer branches.

KSH added that industrial export sales and – within these – manufacturing prices were both down by 2.3% on average. Prices were cut by 2.7% in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply.
