KSH: Exports increase y.o.y 9.2% in December

Improving on lackluster Q3 figures, Hungary's exports increased in December, growing 9.2% year-on-year, while imports grew 7.8% in the same period, a first reading of data by the Central Statistics Office (KSH) revealed this morning.

KSH raised December’s surplus to €322.1 mln, up €97 mln from the same month a year earlier.

Based on the first estimates, exports reached €6.4 bln, while imports were at €6.1 bln for the month of December.

KSH also revised the value of exports for the January-December period, raising the figure by 3.9% to €84.5 bln, while imports were up 4.3% to €78.0 bln.

The balance of the trade surplus was €56 mln less than during the period of January–December 2013.
