Russian and Hungarian railway CEOs met in Yekaterinburg (Russia) where they discussed cooperation between the two countries, Hungarian news agency MTI reported on Friday.

Russian Railways' CEO Vladimir Yakunin and Hungarian state-owned company MÁV's CEO Ilona Dávid held talks during an international meeting held in Yekaterinburg. Both agreed that expanding rail freight and passenger services between the two countries was in their joint interest, regardless of the actual political situation.

V. Yakunin and I. Dávid negotiated about the development of logistics services in Záhony, a railway hub in the eastern part of Hungary, close to the Hungarian-Ukrainian border. They also discussed improvement of cooperation between the Coordination Council on Trans-Siberian Transportation and its European counterpart.
