Hungary retail sales fall 2.8% in March
Retail sales in Hungary fell a calendar year-adjusted 2.8% year-on-year in March, accelerating from a 1.1% decline in the previous month, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said in a first reading on Monday. Retail sales have contracted in a twelve-month comparison every month since last April. Retail food sales edged down 0.1% in March. Non-food sales fell 2.7% and fuel sales dropped 5.1%. KSH will supplement the data in its stADAT system on May 24.
