Hungary becomes full member of European Space Agency
Hungary became a full member of the European Space Agency (ESA) and the documents proving this were signed at a ceremony in Budapest yesterday.
Addressing the ceremony, Jean-Jacques Dordain, ESA's director general, highlighted the successful projects carried out in cooperation with Hungary over the past 20 years. ESA's partnership with Hungary as a full-fledged member is likely to contribute to the creation of several new jobs for Hungarians working in the space industry, he said.
From this point forward, Hungarian companies will also have access to ESA tenders in industry, education and sciences, according Ákos Kara, the state secretary in charge of infocommunication.
