Hungarian hotels with 60% of rooms join new classification system

Hotels which comprise approximately 60% of available rooms in Hungary have joined the Hungarian Hotel and Restaurant Associationʼs Hotelstars classification system, deputy state secretary Ádám Ruszinkó said at a gala yesterday evening were the 400th Hotelstars plaque was presented, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.

According to Ruszinkó, these Hungarian hotels account for approximately 73% of overall guest nights in the country.

The news agency noted that the classification system became the only authorized system for Hungarian hotels as of July 1, 2012, replacing the earlier star system. Hotelstars was made a national trademark under an agreement signed with the Hungarian government, MTI added.
