Hungarian food authority inspection finds no unauthorized GMO
Hungary's Food Chain Safety Authority (NEBIH) announced Tuesday that its inspection of 146 types of food uncovered no traces of unauthorized GMO above the prescribed limit.
The authority's samples included rice, maize, soy and flax products.
EU regulation states that the maximum allowed GMO-level in soy and maize products is at 0.9%. About 24% of the 83 soy products examined by NEBIH contained GMO, but at lower than the allowed level.
