Hungarian Association of Competition Law welcomes new board

Zoltán Hegymegi-Barakonyi (pictured), partner at Baker & McKenzie, today was appointed the new chairman for the Hungarian Association of Competition Law, which is the member of the International League of Competition Law, Baker & McKenzie announced in a press release.

Gusztáv Bacher, partner of Szecskay Attorneys at Law, and Gábor Fejes, partner of Oppenheim Law Firm, were appointed vice-presidents.

Barakonyi started his career 23 years ago at Hungary’s Competition Office (GVH), joined Baker & McKenzie in 1994 and has been leading the firm’s Budapest office since 2013.

Barakonyi noted that, with the active cooperation of the members, the association aims to improve the environment for fair competition in the market – taking into consideration international experiences and boosting both the successful operation and law-abiding behavior of Hungarian firms.
