GfK: Consumer confidence up in Q1

GfK Hungáriaʼs consumer confidence index rose approximately one point to 164.8 in Q1 from the previous quarter, up due to an improved tendency to make purchases, the market researcher announced yesterday, according to Hungarian news agency MTI. 

The measure of consumer expectations fell a little less than 5 points to 179.6. Households gave a deteriorating assessment of their financial situations and more expected things to worsen in the months to come. But the index for propensity to make purchases climbed almost seven points to 148.5.
