Hungary Trade Surplus at EUR 697 mln in July

Hungary's external trade in goods surplus stood at EUR 697 million in July 2023, according to data published by the Central Statistical Office (KSH).

The value of exports amounted to EUR 11.4 billion, that of imports to EUR 10.7 bln.

Compared to July 2022, this corresponds to a value increase of 4.3% in the case of exports and a 13% fall in import value, in EUR terms. This means that the trade balance improved by EUR 2 bln.

The share of the EU Member States was 76% in exports and 72% in imports in the seventh month of 2023, KSH notes.

On the other hand, the level of exports decreased by 16%, while imports fell only by 11% compared to June.
