Romania Foreign Debt Rises in March

Romania's gross foreign debt increased to EUR 154.7 billion at the end of March from EUR 144.5 billion at the end of 2022, the central bank said.

The end-March figure includes EUR 107.2 billion in long-term foreign debt, up from EUR 97.72 billion at the end of last year, BNR said in its monthly report.

The long-term external debt service ratio came in at 14.6% in March, compared to 15.8% at the end of 2022.

The ratio of the BNR's FX reserves to short-term external debt by remaining maturity increased to 90.9% at the end of March, from 82.7% at the end of last year.
