Hungarian households' plans to make big purchases were unchanged in the first quarter compared to three months earlier, but fewer intend to take out personal loans to finance purchases, according to a survey by the Hungarian branch of lender Cofidis. The representative survey of 500 people between the ages of 18 and 69 conducted in March showed 34% planned to make big purchases in the next three months, with most of them spending either on home renovation or travelling. Fewer people – 9% – said they wanted to take out a personal loan to finance such purchases.

Producing journalism that is worthy of the name is a costly business. For 27 years, the publishers, editors and reporters of the Budapest Business Journal have striven to bring you business news that works, information that you can trust, that is factual, accurate and presented without fear or favor.
