€755 million in EIB financing for Hungary in 2013

The European Investment Bank (EIB) signed €755 million in credit-contracts to finance projects in Hungary in 2013, EIB Vice President László Baranyay announced on Thursday. Baranyay said that the EIB had signed €7.4 billion in contracts in Hungary over the previous five years. 

The EIB vice president said that 32% of these contracts had been for agricultural projects, while 24% had been for projects in the SME sector, 17% for telecommunications and transportation, 12% for education, 8% for urban-development projects and 7% for energy projects.

Baranyay noted the EIB provided €500 million in co-financing for construction of the recently completed fourth line of the Budapest Metro.
