The 3rd National Biodiversity Strategy provides a comprehensive framework for the long-term survival of domestic wildlife and natural resources and defines the objectives to be achieved by 2030, as well as the measures to achieve them, the Ministry of Agriculture said upon adoption of the strategy this week, according to profitline.hu.

The strategy prioritizes topics such as the network of protected areas, the suppression of invasive alien species that damage natural and near-natural ecosystems, and sustainable agriculture, forestry, game, and fish management.

Among the priority tasks of the currently adopted plan are also halting the decline of pollinators, improving the resilience of ecosystems to climate change, developing the elements of the green infrastructure network, and mitigating pollution that threatens biodiversity, the statement said.
