Due to Hungary's considerable energy exposure, it needs locally-produced and sustainable, environmentally-friendly energy, said State Secretary Attila Steiner of the Ministry of Energy Affairs at a press conference in Esztergom, according to profitline.hu.

He added that the government had launched a green national consultation to assess where the population's demand for the transition to green energy is greatest and to launch various support programs accordingly.

Steiner spoke about how the country can make significant progress in electric transport and said that geothermal energy is a Hungarian resource with much greater potential than is currently exploited.
