Confucius Institute, University of Szeged to establish China center
The Confucius Institute and the University of Szeged in southeastern Hungary, yesterday signed a declaration of intent to establish a China center, which would focus on education, innovation and foreign relations, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.
Confucius Institute and Hungary’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade also signed a memorandum of understanding, which stipulates the instituteʼs role in strengthening Hungarian-Chinese tourism, education and cultural ties.
"Countries wishing to be strong these days cannot bypass relations with China," Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said, noting that the issue of Hungarian-Chinese relations is not subject to party politics.
