BUX rises together with Europe

The Budapest Stock Exchange's main BUX index finished up 0.96% at 16,540.49 on Monday, rising for the second day in a row on a general positive mood throughout Europe. Turnover slowed to a pre-Christmas thin of HUF 3.3 bln.

The market seems to have calmed from the turmoil caused by last week's tumble of the rouble and as the holidays approached.

OTP gained 1.28%, more than on Friday, closing at HUF 3,803 on turnover of HUF 1.27 bln from a HUF 3.32 bln session total.

MOL's rise slowed to 1.05% and it ended the day at HUF 11,600 on turnover of HUF 578 mln.

Magyar Telekom rose 0.29%, recovering half of Friday's losses, to HUF 340 on turnover of HUF 261 mln.

Richter advanced another 0.85% to HUF 3,430 on turnover of HUF 1.10 bln.

The bourse's mid-cap BUMIX finished up 0.76% at 1,433.22.

Elsewhere in the region, Warsaw's WIG20 was up 0.47%, while Prague's PX gained 1.31%.

Western Europe's major indices were all up ahead of their close Friday, FTSE-100 in London up 0.44%, DAX30 in Frankfurt 0.53%, and CAC40 in Paris 0.25%.
