BUX rises 0.28% on gains from OTP and MOL

The Budapest Stock Exchange's blue-chip BUX index closed Tuesday trade up 0.28% to 18,727.68 on gains from heavyweight issuers OTP Bank and MOL.

The BUX advanced 51.88 points on a composite exchange turnover of HUF 6.12 bln, just under three-quarters of the BSE's year-to-date average daily trade of HUF 8.3 bln. The BUX fluctuated in a 1.07% range between an intra-session low of 18,567.88 at 9:45 a.m. and an intra-session high of 18,766.36 shortly before closing bell.

BSE blue-chips stood as follows at the end of Tuesday trade:

OTP gained 1.14% to HUF 4,430 on a turnover of HUF 2.16 bln;

Oil and gas company MOL advanced 0.24% to HUF 12,445 on an exchange-high turnover of HUF 2.68 bln;

Magyar Telekom finished unchanged at HUF 374 on a turnover of HUF 460m;

Drug company Richter lost 0.56% to HUF 4,097 on a turnover of HUF 760m.

The BSE Big Four generated just over 99% of the exchange's composite Tuesday turnover.
