Authorities find bluetongue virus in Hungary
Hungary's food safety authority NÉBIH said today that it found the presence of bluetongue, a viral disease of ruminants, on two small farms in the south of Csongrád County in south-eastern Hungary.
A ban on the movement of animals beyond a 20 km area around the farm was in effect, NÉBIH noted.
NÉBIH increased its monitoring of bluetongue in September due to an outbreak in southern Europe.
