U.S. signs grant agreement with CEU

“The Sustainable University Network will promote civic responsibility among future decision-makers in Hungary by developing leadership skills, promoting sustainable development training, and reinforcing a shared commitment to environmental stewardship. As part of the SUN project, several U.S. experts will come to Hungary to share their knowledge on issues of importance concerning environmental stewardship and sustainable development”, the statement says.

“There are student sustainability groups at many different universities in Hungary, and the goal is to coordinate activities, to strengthen overall impact, and to inspire cooperation and continuity,” said CEU Sustainability Officer Logan Strenchock, who will facilitate and coordinate the implementation of the project. “We need to find realistic solutions for universities in Hungary and get even more students and young people interested in participating and making a difference.”

Student environmental groups from ten higher education institutions across six cities in Hungary will work together to promote information sharing, develop leadership skills, and provide training on general environmental issues for student leaders and groups.
