TMK-Automatika develops device for disposal of drilling waste

Hungary's TMK-Automatika has developed a device for eliminating liquid waste generated by gas and oil drilling in an almost HUF 600 mln project, the company said.

The project was supported with a HUF 208 mln European Union and state grant.

TMK-Automatika's device separates the elements of the so-called slop into water, oil and solids. The solids are then heated to the point at which they are no longer hazardous waste.

The company, whose predecessor was the process control division of petrochemicals company TVK, had revenue of HUF 1 bln in its last business year.
