Telenor Magyarország revenue up by 3.3%
Telenor Magyarország, the Hungarian subsidiary of Norwegian telecoms company Telenor Group, had a revenue of HUF 39.634 bln in Q3, up 3.3% year-on-year, while EBITDA reached HUF 13.118 bln excluding one-off items, only slightly below HUF 13.141 bln achieved a year earlier, the company informed Hungarian news agency MTI today.
The company said the increase was due, to higher revenues from interconnect fees and non-mobile services, in addition to increased sales of handsets. The number of subscriptions rose by 25% reaching 3.46 mln during the quarter.
Investment spending rose to HUF 3.1bn in the third quarter from HUF 2.3 bln a year earlier due to expansion of the hypernet network and transmission technology developments, excluding the frequency license fees.
Telenor reportedly spent HUF 31.73 bln for the frequency licenses it won in the National Media and Infocommunications Authority's (NMHH) tender during the quarter. Telenor Magyarország said it is planning to expand its 4G coverage making it available to 98% of Hungary's population and will spend HUF 15-20 bln on network development in the next three years. Average monthly revenue per user rose to HUF 3,487 from HUF 3,416 a year earlier.
