Applications Open for Fall Semester of FAO–Hungarian Gov't Scholarship Program

Applications are now being accepted by the FAO–Hungarian Government Scholarship Program. Two scholarships are available for two-year post-graduate study in fields such as biotechnology or water management for promising students from developing and middle-income countries, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.

Now in its 15th consecutive year, the Hungary-sponsored FAO scholarship program offers young professionals the opportunity to widen and deepen their knowledge. Those accepted to the program will pursue studies at the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences in Budapest.

The scholarship covers application and tuition fees, basic books, dormitory accommodation, subsistence costs, and health insurance.

The deadline for submitting applications is February 28, 2023, for the academic year starting in fall 2023.

According to the press release, nationals of the following countries and territories, who also reside in their countries, are eligible to apply for the program:
Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Angola, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Chad, Congo, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Lao People's Democratic Republic , Lebanon, North Macedonia, Madagascar, Mali, Myanmar, Republic of Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Namibia, Nigeria, Palestine, the Philippines, Cabo Verde, Serbia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen.
