The University of Pécs (PTE) and E-Group ICT Software have jointly developed a system helping the processing of healthcare data and the development of new medicines and treatments in a HUF 1.9 billion EU-funded project, the university said this week according to Magyar Hírlap.

The resulting IT system collects and organizes all the data generated at the university's clinics and ensures their utilization for research purposes, PTE said.

The data can be used to create new research results with the help of AI, which can contribute to the development of new medicines and new, even personalized treatments, they added.

The university earlier said it hoped that the project could serve as a prototype for healthcare institutions not only in Hungary but also in neighboring countries.
