Rogán urges MNB to scrutinize Lombard Lízing
Ruling Fidesz party’s Caucus Leader Antal Rogán yesterday asked the National Bank of Hungary to carry out a full investigation into Hungarian lender Lombard Lízing regarding its compliance with borrowers’ relief legislation, Hungarian news agency MTI reported today.
Hungarian daily Magyar Nemzet yesterday reported that almost a dozen borrowers had complained to the paper claiming that Lombard Lízing would not settle their car loans, arguing that those borrowers do not constitute as consumers and, therefore, they do not fall under the scope of the law on settlement.
Answering MTI’s query, the Hungarian central bank said that the settlement applies to anybody who applied for a consumer loan, adding that the lender cannot retroactively examine how the lent money was spent.
