Budapest One Gets Breeam ‘Excellent’ Rating

Sustainability

Budapest One has received a Breeam “Excellent” rating in the category relating to the environmental consciousness of the development.

“In addition to the excellent location, providing an inspiring, healthy, green and safe work environment has also become a priority for office tenants. Accordingly, Budapest One, with a total of 65,000 square meters, has already been created in such a way that it fully meets both people-oriented and environmentally friendly requirements,” shares Gábor Radványi, Futureal's chief architect.

“The high quality of the development is confirmed by the fact that several large companies chose the office building as their headquarters. The new parts of the building house, among other things, the regional service center of Vodafone Hungary and BT. In addition to Budapest One, the Corvin Innovation Campus office building has already been designed in accordance with Breeam Excellent and Well Platina requirements,” he adds.

The second and third phases of the Budapest One office building earned Breeam “Excellent” ratings for sustainable buildings, after an examination of the entire developmental process. Two parts of the building, which also received an excellent grade for the post-construction condition, expanded the domestic market with a total of nearly 40,000 sqm of environmentally friendly office space.

According to a statement shared by Futureal, one of the key aspects of the sustainability assessment is the appropriate location, as an easily accessible office building can significantly reduce the carbon footprint. Budapest One is located at the junction of the Kelenföld railway station, metro line 4, and the entrance section of the M1–M7 highways to the capital.

The first phase of Budapest One also met the requirements of the Well Health-Safety international certification, which examines the safe operation of buildings in all respects. During the evaluation, among other things, the proper cleaning and disinfection of the office building, preparedness for emergency situations, the availability of medical personnel, the assurance of air and water quality, tenant communication and the innovative approach were also examined.

Futureal's independent Stay Safe initiative also responds to market needs, within the framework of which new health protection regulations and technological solutions were applied during the development of Budapest One.

With the two closing stages, a nearly 500-meter-long panoramic running track circle was also closed at the top of the building complex, and in addition to electric cars, electric bicycles and e-scooters can also be charged in the underground garage.
