Building Material Makers Cut Production Amid Dropping Demand
Local building material makers have cut production amid big drops in demand, the professional association Méasz said, according to uzletem.hu.
Méasz said brick and tile makers had suspended production as sales plunged 40-50%, while EPS [expanded polystyrene] insulation makers cut capacity amid a 20-30% decline in turnover.
The association said order stock had dropped as higher financing costs, a drop in consumer purchasing power, and postponed state and municipal council investments weighed.
